Hej, I’m Becky! Many of y’all probably know me from the original iteration of Fikabröd, my baking subscription box. I was inspired to start Fikabröd after the death of my best friend, beloved basset hound Preston. As I struggled with the loss and resulting depression, baking became more than just a hobby; it was an act of healing. In the kitchen, I found some joy again, and it was an honour to help others do the same with 5 ½ years of creatively curated subscription boxes.
While I’ve closed the sub box chapter of my life, I am most certainly not hanging up my apron! Always a passionate and curious baker, I’ve created goodies such as peanut butter & pickle sandwich cookies, milk tea tres leches cake, and yuzu shu creams. I have developed and retooled recipes with Fikabröd’s curated ingredients, as well as tested and edited recipes for professional bakers and cafe owners.
Since I absolutely adore the community of fellow bakers that we built with Fikabröd, I plan to continue sharing bakes, travel treats, food news, and the occasional puppy story on Instagram. And don’t be surprised if I post a new recipe here from time to time!
Outside of the kitchen, you’ll find me snuggling with Margot & Benne (my dogs), watching Doctor Who with my husband, eating gelato with my brother, hyping up my friends’ food businesses, or rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
